  2. Great question! Last year the students were seated with their cabin. The boys were on one side of the dinning room and the girls were on the other.

  9. Somebody told me that Northbay had cold showers...is that true?

    ReplyDelete
  10. When I went last year I did not think that was the case, however, if everyone if your cabin takes a long shower and uses the hot water then I can imagine that person might have had a cold shower.

  11. What Kind of activities are there?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Check out this link- it is a virtual tour of NorthBay. It shows some of the activities like the ropes courses, basketball courts, and climbing walls.

    http://www.northbayadventure.com/Property/VirtualTour.asp

We will also have other activities during the day but they are decided by your camp leader and they could be different than the ones I did last year. Some of the ones I did last year were bird watching, hiking, and investigating a tidal pool.

  13. The bus ride is about an hour and a half. If you wanted to listen to music on the bus that would probably be okay. However, you will not be allowed to carry it around with you during the day. If it rains, I am sure they will alternate activities planned.

  14. If you bring your cell phone you may only use it at night. The rule will be just like if you bring a cell phone to school- if we see it or hear it we take it from you. Be sure to lock your cell phone in the safe in your room. Your chaperone will allow you to get them out to call home, but you will not be texting a friend in another cabin because you will have to go to sleep!

  15. If you have a pair of water shoes we suggest bringing them, but if you do not your old tennis shoes you can wear in the water.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Also if you do not have a cell phone or if you need to contact your home during the day - there is a phone available in the NorthBay office that students can use at anytime (with permission from your chaperone/teacher.

  20. Are the cabins dirty and do they let bugs in like spiders?

    ReplyDelete
  21. The cabins are pretty new and are cleaned before new groups of students arrive. I did not hear anyone complain about bugs last year, but it is possible- just like bugs can get in your house or apartment!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Is our cabin doing cabin activities? If yes do we have to do the activitie if we don't want to? For example: "I dont want to go on the ropes course or something"

    ReplyDelete
  27. If you do not want to do one of the activities you will simply wait for the other members of your group to complete them and cheer them on! If you are nervous about the ropes course in general you should at least try and even if you take ten steps and want to go back and get off you can! Be adventurous and try something new!

    ReplyDelete
  28. The bathrooms and showers are inside your cabin.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Generally you only travel with your cabin. During the mid afternoon activity time some girl cabins are grouped togeher and some boy cabins are grouped together. So it's not that you are forbidden from talking to eachother, its more like you are in different places.
